The noise was deafening as Jin approached the hotel room where the three of them were staying. He should have known better than to leave the two of them alone, he thought.

When the bedside lamp came crashing through the window, he almost turned around and went back to the bar to look for someone to challenge to a duel.

"You can't even read!" Fuu was yelling, and it was enough to make Jin wonder what trouble Mugen had started.

Letting himself into the room was an exercise in obstacle avoidance, as one of Mugen's getas came flying through the air toward his head. He chose to believe that it hadn't been aimed at him, specifically.

He slipped into the room unnoticed and folded himself into a seated position in the corner. It probably wouldn't be long before their energies were focused on other forms of aggression; fighting was just another form of foreplay for his companions. (He still wouldn't go so far as to call them lovers, no matter what they did in bed.)

Something hard was pressing into his thigh and he frowned, reaching under himself to pull it out. It was a piece of smooth wood and he turned it over. It only took one glance at the ukiyo-e painting to realize that this had most likely been the source of his companions' current contention. Still, since they had obviously forgotten about it in the heat of their ... er, tempers (and were they still fighting, or had Mugen moved on to trying to untie Fuu's obi?), Jin figured they wouldn't miss it.

"Jin?"

Fuu had spotted him, but he didn't look up.

"Now he probably does read the articles," Fuu pointed out in a high and mighty tone. Mugen just snorted in response.

"He would," Mugen grumbled. The next thing Jin knew, the ukiyo-e pin up had been snatched out of his hands and he was being yanked to his feet by the collar of his kimono. "Stop readin' the damn article and be a man."

Mugen's mouth was on his before he could respond and he felt Fuu's small hand slip into his kimono as she wriggled between the two men.

"You idiots," she said, reaching up to pull on Jin's ponytail. "I wrote the article."

Jin figured he had time for arguing later. For now he'd let them fight over something else -- him.
