So it's just occurred to me that I never moved all my X-Men fics over here. I'm way too lazy to move them individually, so here's a link to them.

Jules's fics at wolverineandrogue.com.

They're all really old, so. Um. I apologize. *grin*

Title: Slow Train Coming
Author: m.jules
Rating: Um, Mature times three? *sheepish*
Summary: “That’s a long wait for a train don’t come.”
Disclaimer: Love (and narcissism), not money. The summary and the line of dialogue it comes from is blatantly and lovingly stolen from a line in Joss Whedon's latest, greatest Serenity. The title itself is a tip of the hat to my beloved Bob Dylan.
Author’s Notes: For [livejournal.com profile] artemis2050, who gave me the prompt to start this, and [livejournal.com profile] mollita who held my hand through the last stages. This is an AU that takes place ten years after X1 would have, only Logan and Rogue never met... until now, in that same rundown bar in Laughlin City. Older and jaded, and with a history behind her that sounds a lot like comic-Rogue, Marie finally meets Logan, and this is the story of what happens then. You like happy endings? Your train don't unload at this station. :-)

This is a one-shot. Anyone who asks for a sequel will be unceremoniously duct-taped and dumped into the hold for a month.

(Read: Go pester [livejournal.com profile] mollita. She's authorized to follow this baby up with either a remix or a sequel.)

ETA: 05/31/06 - [livejournal.com profile] artemis2050 has written an authorized remix.

Angst Ahoy! )

Title: Square One
Author: m.jules
Rating: PG
'Verse: That weird conglomerate universe I live in where Movie-Marie grows up to be a lot like Comic-Rogue, including the intricate tattoo down her arm and the on-and-off mutation glitches. And Remy.
Summary: It's never over.
Author’s Notes: I wanted to write a vignette. [livejournal.com profile] xbedhead gave me the prompt. (For the record, it was ‘hot dogs’.) This is what happened. Title from Coldplay's "Square One" - but that came after the fic was complete.

Based on a true story.

Title: Comfort
Author: m.jules
Rating: M for Mature - probably NC-17
Summary: “The comfort of control.” Rogue helps Logan deal with the aftershocks of Hydra.
Continuity/Verse: Kinda Comics, especially the recent Hydra arc in Wolvie’s little world. Inspired by Pulse #9.
Category: The plot is so miniscule, it could be considered PWP. Unless you’re counting psychological character development as a plot. Then maybe. And some angst tossed in for good measure.
Author’s Notes: This started out as a combination of a really sexy scene in my head (that made my beta go “*meep!*” when I mentioned it to her) and DevilDoll’s scans of Pulse #9 where Logan is having a (well-deserved) pity party about what Hydra’s done to him. I wanted to comfort him. Rogue volunteered to help. So here you have it. Also, mild content warning: This deals (very lightly) with some Dominant/submissive themes. Unless you're really oversensitive to stuff like that (and if you are, what are you doing reading fic about Wolverine?) you should be okay, though.

It wasn't an unusual thing... )

Title: Lover/Fighter
Author: m.jules
Summary: All lovers are fighters.
Rating: PG-13 for shadowy images :-)
Series: None so far
Author’s Notes: This is set in my own little universe that sort of branched off X-Men #169. For all the cover art and hype, the storytellers sort of skimmed right over the kiss, but I can’t help thinking there’s more to it than an attention-getting gimmick. And since no one on staff at Marvel seems to care about character development, I don’t feel so bad about taking their job on this one.

Author’s Notes: Look at this! Bet y'all thought I was just going to leave you hanging on this one and it would turn into another Bridles, didn't ya? Well, I'm not that mean. And having a full outline for the whole series makes things easier. Hope you guys keep liking the story...

Title: In Your Own Blood
Author: m.jules
Rating: R for Mature Themes, drug use, violence, etc.
Summary: “I passed by and I saw you, squirming in your own blood, and I said to you, ‘Live!’”
Series: Time For Love
Disclaimer: For love, not money.
Archive: WRFA; anywhere else, please ask.
Continuity: Alternate Universe
Feedback: More than ever. I want to know if this is actually connecting with an audience, because it’s kind of unusual. Feel free to let me know if it isn’t.
Author’s Notes: This series is based on the allegorical story told in Ezekiel chapter sixteen, meant to have a story take place every three and a half years. If all goes according to plan, there will be seven stories to this series, of which this is the first. My thanks extend to Heather, Taryn, and Terri, who encouraged this first chapter back when I first started writing it; tinhutlady who gave it a chance despite her initial misgivings and offered suggestions; and Beth who beta'd.

Parts One and Two can be found in my LJ Memories.

A few things need to be explained in this alterverse of mine so I’m going to do it in as little space as possible. This is a mutation-having alterverse, but there are slight differences to one character in particular: Mystique. In this world, her skin is not naturally blue or scaly yet; she can change to that form, and does, as part of her shape-shifting mutation, but as of this point in the story, her natural form is not blue.

Also, this characterization of Logan leans heavily on his character in the Evolution series and echoes (probably not-coincidentally) tinhutlady’s vision of him -- a calmer, less insecure Logan whose protective streak is perhaps the most prominent of his traits. The rest will come as you read.

The sound was not so much unusual as unwanted... )
