Title: The Highest Reaches of Hell
Author: m.jules
Fandom: Batman Begins
Written for: Sinquepida in the Yuletide 2007 Challenge
Summary: Hell looks different to everyone who lives there. Sometimes it even looks like five-star hotels and elite company.
Author's Notes: Thank you to FloridianaJax, who served as my very first beta over five years ago, who made a guest reappearance as consultant on this. Also thanks to [livejournal.com profile] fireun, who unknowingly made a (very popular) cameo as April.

Title: Rubber Ducky, You're the One
Author: m.jules
Fandom: +Anima
Rating: Very Light PG (some very innocent kissing)
Pairing: Cooro/Senri...kinda.
Disclaimer: +Anima and its related characters and situations do not belong to me and I am making no profit from this labor of OMGLOVE.
Author's Notes: ...I cannot believe I have just written +Anima slash. This is like writing Boxcar Children slash. Except not as incestuous. However~! Despite the fact that this was clearly written for one reason alone - and that is to indulge my simpering fangirl adoration of Senri and my guilty pleasure almost-pairing of Cooro/Senri - it doesn't step outside the boundaries already established by canon. No, seriously. Also, what does the title have to do with anything? The fact that every time I tried to think of a title for the story, I kept hearing this song in my head. Maybe it's the song Cooro's humming. Who knows. This one's dedicated to [livejournal.com profile] fireun, because she encourages my delinquency in bad, bad ways.

Title: Like Burning
Author: m.jules
Rating: PG-13...?
Summary: Ice has its own kind of burning.
Fandom: *cough* A Song of Ice and Fire... although, because this fandom isn't actually all that fond of fanworks like fiction and the sort, can we please not tell anyone? Especially since the author's kind of aware of his fandom?
Timeline: In A Storm of Swords. Kind of a little bit spoilery. If you've read the book, you'll know approximately where this is. If you haven't, there ARE a few spoilers, even though they're kinda vague. Maybe.
Disclaimer: I think I said just a couple lines up that these aren't mine and I'm already tempting the fates by playing in this sandbox. I wouldn't DARE tempt them further by actually trying to make money.
Character: Arya
Author's Notes: For [livejournal.com profile] unanon especially, because she'll know exactly what I mean by all of it. Mainly written because these two kids were starting to break my heart with all their wishing they could see each other again.

Title: The Honeymooners
Author: m.jules
Summary: The hotel's all full except for one room. One bed + four boys = More fun than a barrel of monkey-kings. Gen-fic.
Rating: PG for a little swearing. PG-13?
Disclaimer: They're not mine, but if claims are open, I'll take 'em all AND their former-life selves.
Author's Notes: Thank you to [livejournal.com profile] cornerofmadness and [livejournal.com profile] evil_little_dog for helping me out. This came about through a snark session about someone's fic in another fandom that used the cliche of being stuck in one room together, and since I was doing cliche, I decided to do it up right and go all out. Hope you get a kick out of it. I also chose to use "Jeep" for Hakuryuu, since that's what's used most often in the English manga. Plus, it's easier to type.

Title: A Memory of Love
Author: m.jules
Fandom: Gunslinger Girl
Summary: When is a game not a game?
Rating: Kidsafe
Disclaimer: Gunslinger Girl belongs to the people who own it, not to me.
Warnings: None. Only mildly 'shippy. Plenty of awkward symbolism. Self-beta'd.
Author's Notes: Very, very mild spoilers. Written for [livejournal.com profile] picfor1000, which was harder than it sounded. 1000 words on the nose.

Title: Cosmic Christmas Pizza
Author: m.jules
Rating: PG for wackiness
Fandom: X-Files
Genre: Gen, pointless fluff
Timeline: Approximately sometime around Season 3, I think.
Disclaimer: Fox Mulder and Dana Scully and their universe belongs to David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson, foremost, though for all legal purposes, I have to mention Chris Carter, 20th Fox, and 1013 Productions. This story? Well, let's not name names, shall we?
Author's Notes: Well, I WAS going to write a whole handful of holiday drabbles for various fandoms, and I started with Moose & Squirrel. Go figure, once those two got started, they wouldn't shut up in under 100 words. (You try getting Mulder and Scully in the same room without them going on for PAGES about nothing.)

So instead of a post with multi-fandom holiday drabbles, I will just post them one at a time as they write themselves.

And no, I will NOT write the story behind Mr. Valerio and the pizza.

Rating: Kid-friendly
Timeline: Between Prince Caspian and The Voyage of the Dawn Treader.

Author's Notes: Look who's writing fic in England.

Title: Orphans of God
Author: m.jules
Summary: We were only children.
Word Count: 1708 (not counting lyrics)
Pairings: None.
Rating: Older Teen, for mature themes and wartime violence.
Disclaimer: Not mine, not for profit.
Author's Notes: For the July challenge at [livejournal.com profile] fullservicefma, theme 'uniform.'

The unrest in Ishbal became a full-fledged war when an Amestrian soldier shot and killed an Ishbalan child. I took a few liberties with this idea and made this child the brother of the story's narrator. To stem any confusion, the narrator of this story is not Scar; it's an original character who saw the war through a child's eyes. The title and opening quote are both from "The Orphans of God" by Mark Heard. The full lyrics are at the end, and are dedicated to every nation that has ever found itself the object of prejudice and the victim of war.

Thank you to [livejournal.com profile] cornerofmadness, [livejournal.com profile] dr_firedog, and [livejournal.com profile] evil_little_dog for their beta services.

Title: Time in a Bottle
Author: m.jules
Rating: PG?
Disclaimer: Not mine.
Prompt: Pumpkin
Characters/Pairings: Maes & Elicia, OT4 mentions
Author's Notes: This is for [livejournal.com profile] cornerofmadness's birthday, because Maes insisted that nothing could be better than a story about his daughter. It is also for the "pumpkin" prompt of the [livejournal.com profile] color_i_fic Garden of Eden challenge. Not only that, but it serves as a very-far-in-the-past prequel to my as-yet unposted story, "Daddy's Girl." Title and opening quote from "Time in a Bottle" by Jim Croce.

Happy Birthday, Dana!

Verse: Manga, obviously.

Title: The Stars of Her Twilight, Darkening
author: m.jules
Fandom: Firefly
Pairing: Mal/River (and others)
Rating: PG, I think
Word Count: 800
Summary: "Let the stars of its twilight be darkened; let it wait for light but have none; and let it not see the breaking dawn."
Author's Notes: This is for [livejournal.com profile] mollita who asked for something that she is not getting, exactly, but close to. Summary quote (and title) comes from the Biblical book of Job, third chapter. Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] artemis2050 for proofreading and helping with the title.
Prompt:85, "She"
Warnings: Character Death.
